Inner Shaft
Functions of Inner Shaft (Arm Shaft)
Adopted in double wishbone type of independent suspension system to fix control arm to chassis. Upper arm shaft and lower arm shaft.
Element for wheel alignment. Shim between arm shaft and chassis allows camber and caster angle to be adjustable.
Construction
There are upper inner shaft and lower inner shaft. A shaft with bolt holes to fix on chassis and threaded bushes to connect to control arm.
Bush is mounted on control arm by bolts etc. Up-down actions of wheels are absorbed through reciprocal turning motion of bush and bolt. Lubrication for turning motion is by grease nipple on bush.
