STEERING
SUSPENTIONPARTS

We aim to be a sustainable global company that pioneers the future of motorization.

Steering ensures your car turns smoothly, while suspension contributes to stable and comfortable driving.
GMB conducts the necessary static, destructive, and durability tests during the development of these components to ensure its products reliability.
At GMB Thailand, we also conduct the necessary static, destructive, and durability tests during development to ensure the reliability of our products. In quality inspections, we guarantee ride comfort and safety through thorough quality control, including independent and periodic inspections for each manufacturing process, alongside the implementation of appropriate heat treatment and meticulous incoming inspections for special steels.

BALL JOINTS

of GMB

Ball joints produced by GMB

Realizing smooth operability, stability, and comfort.

GMB's joint components are designed with appropriate swing and rotational torque, enabling smooth vehicle operation.
They also respond appropriately to irregular changes in the road surface, providing stable driving performance and a comfortable ride.
GMB keeps friction to a minimum, while ensuring high operability and stability through use of a resin sheet with excellent wear resistance (POM: ACETAL) and special synthetic grease. Additionally, mud and water-resistant grease is used in GMB's dust covers (dustproof cover), which contributes to the longevity of these components.

The material of the ball seat inside the ball joint consists of metal and resin types. GMB mainly adopts the resin type, as it is lightweight when compared to the metal type.
In metal types, a grease nipple is attached externally to continuously supply oil. In resin types, on the other hand, a special-formulation grease is injected between the ball and the shaft during manufacturing, eliminating the need for refilling with a grease nipple. As a result, resin types carry the advantage of being less prone to dirt and dust.

TIE ROD ENDS

of GMB

Tie rod ends are devices that transmit the steering force from the steering wheel to the wheels, absorbing shocks and vibrations caused by changes in the road surface to maintain the stability of the vehicle's steering.
The wheel side consists of a ball joint and the body side consists of a screw. The ball joint section contains an internal ball stud, and between the housing and ball stud, there is an assembled resin ball seat.
To prevent friction on the ball stud, a special synthetic grease is applied to the inner surface of the ball seat.
A plug (cap) is inserted to seal the housing and prevent grease leakage. On the opposite side of the plug, a rubber dust cover filled with grease is attached to prevent both grease leakage and the entry of mud and water.
In tie rod ends that use a resin ball seat, re-greasing is not required after manufacturing. The ball stud is equipped with a tapered shaft and a screw for fixing it in place to facilitate its connection with the wheel.

RACK ENDS

of GMB

Rack ends are devices that transmit the steering force from the steering wheel to the wheels, absorbing shocks and vibrations caused by changes in the road surface to maintain the stability of the vehicle's steering.

GMB's rack ends are designed with appropriate swing and rotational torque, allowing for smooth vehicle maneuvering. To respond appropriately to irregular changes in the road surface and support stable driving performance and comfort, GMB uses an exceptionally friction-resistant plastic sheet (POM: ACETAL) and special synthetic grease between the ball joint and the ball. This minimizes friction.
Additionally, GMB uses mud and water-resistant grease inside the dust cover to contribute to the longevity of the rack end.

STEERING
JOINTS

Among the fundamental functions of an automobile, such as moving forward, turning, and stopping, steering joint devices are a crucial safety component responsible for turning.

In steering joint devices, there is a growing demand for higher precision, performance, and durability to provide safety and operational comfort as well as improved vehicle performance. Moreover, with the recent increasing prevalence of electric power steering, strength has become an additional requirement.
In response to these market trends, GMB is implementing the following initiatives to enhance quality.

01Achieving high precision, performance, and durability by suppressing rattling through precise clearance control.

02Ensuring high strength by adopting spiders formed through cold forging.

The performance of steering joints is significantly influenced by the yoke. GMB engages in constant discussions to provide the highest performance and optimal feel that align with the specifications sought by various automotive manufacturers and customers.
