We Sponsored “Cross-Border Camp 2026 in Nara” to Support the Challenges of Students Who Will Shape the Future

Helping Students Take Their First Step Toward the World Through a Joint Talent Development Project with the Local Community

GMB sponsored “Cross-Border Camp 2026 in Nara,” an overseas study experience program for high school students organized by the General Incorporated Association “Minna no Ryugaku-bu”, and contributed to a portion of the program’s operating costs.

Additionally, on July 22, our President and CEO, Matsuoka, along with two employees from the Sales Department, participated in the program. Through lectures and career counseling, they interacted with the students and helped create opportunities for them to take on global challenges.

The purpose of this sponsorship is to support young people taking on global challenges and to foster global talent that connects Nara with the world.

Held for the first time, this camp is an educational program designed to help remove barriers to studying abroad—such as “information,” “opportunity,” and “economic disparities”—and to provide as many young people as possible with an opportunity to take on global challenges. Thanks to sponsorship from our company and other businesses in Nara Prefecture, the program was offered free of charge, allowing students to gain a global perspective while minimizing their financial burden.

Approximately 80 high school students from across Japan gathered for the five-day, four-night camp. Through repeated interactions and discussions with international university students, they were exposed to diverse values and reflected on their own futures.

Our company participated on the second day of the program. In addition to presenting an introduction to our company and delivering a lecture incorporating our employees’ international experiences, our staff served as tutors to facilitate discussions during a mock class at an overseas university, where students presented what they had learned about Nara in English.

At the start of the mock class, our president addressed the students, saying, “To think about your own career, it’s important to meet diverse people and be exposed to a variety of values. I hope this program will serve as a catalyst for all of you.”

During dinner, our employees sat at the same tables as the students and interacted with them as mentors, discussing their career paths and futures. The students asked enthusiastic questions about work and overseas experiences, making this a valuable opportunity to broaden their horizons through these interactions.

Moving forward, our company will continue to leverage the insights and networks we have cultivated as a global enterprise. While cherishing our connections with the local community, we will contribute to creating an environment where the young people who will lead the next generation can take on global challenges.
