A day to deepen bonds amongst colleagues, with families and the local community, as a token of our gratitude

On 24 July, we held the “GMB Festival” as a token of our gratitude to our employees and their families.

Now in its second year, this year’s event saw approximately 400 participants—more than last year—and it was a day filled with smiles as people deepened their bonds across generations and departments.

On the special stage set up on our company grounds, the event kicked off with a powerful Japanese drum performance by the ‘Mahoroba Taikokai’, followed by a comedy show featuring Yoshimoto comedians and a raffle with fantastic prizes. The venue was filled with laughter and applause, and participants could often be seen striking up conversations with one another quite naturally.

In addition to the stage, we provided ten food trucks and a children’s fair, allowing everyone from young children to adults to enjoy the day in their own way.

Furthermore, this year, in collaboration with Kawanishi Town—where our head office and factory are located—we organised an inline skating trial session led by members of the Japanese national inline speed skating team, who are based at ‘Oval Park Kawanishi’, as well as a talk show with our employees.

Thanks to the cooperation of local authorities and sports officials, this provided a valuable opportunity to experience sports that people rarely have the chance to encounter in their daily lives, and it also served as a moment for employees and their families to rediscover the charm of the local area.

Participants commented, ‘I was delighted to be able to naturally bond with senior colleagues from other departments thanks to the stage events that engaged the audience.’ Not only were there smiles on the children’s faces, but scenes of employees and their families deepening their bonds could be seen throughout the venue, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

GMB will continue to cherish our gratitude towards our employees and their families, and to pursue corporate activities that foster connections between people.

Furthermore, by building upon each of these individual initiatives, we aim to remain a company where employees take pride in their work and are held in high regard by both their families and the local community.
